What Cura is

Cura is a web-based care management platform for Australian providers who deliver NDIS and Support at Home (aged care) services. It runs the day-to-day of a provider in one place: the people you support, the workers who support them, the roster, the approvals, the money, and the compliance record behind all of it.

You use it in a browser. There is nothing to install, and it works on a phone for the things support workers need to do on the road.

  • Small and mid-sized providers who deliver NDIS supports, Support at Home services, DVA-funded care, or privately paid care, often all four at once.
  • Office and coordination staff who build rosters, approve shifts and chase paperwork.
  • Finance staff who bill clients, lodge NDIS claims, claim Support at Home funding and run payroll.
  • Support workers who need to see their shifts and record what happened.
  • Owners and compliance leads who need an audit trail, incident records and the numbers for the Quarterly Financial Report.
  1. Clients come in. A lead becomes a client through a guided wizard. Clients receive their onboarding pack by email and sign it themselves, or the office completes it on their behalf. Funding details (NDIS plan, Support at Home budget, DVA, private) live on the client record.
  2. Workers are made ready. New workers receive an onboarding link, upload their credentials, and the office verifies them. A worker can only be rostered once the required credentials are verified and current.
  3. Shifts are rostered. The Scheduler books a client, a service, a worker and a time. Before a shift is saved, Cura checks the budget, the worker’s qualifications, the rate against the price limit, overlaps, minimum engagement and more. Recurring patterns, group sessions, Programs of Support and Supported Independent Living houses are all handled here.
  4. Shifts are delivered and approved. The worker records actual times, travel and expenses. A manager approves the week’s shifts in one queue. Nothing is paid or billed until it is approved.
  5. Money moves. Approved shifts become invoice lines, NDIS claim files, Support at Home claims to Services Australia, and payroll runs. Invoices and payroll items can be pushed to Xero.
  6. The record stays straight. Every action is logged. Incidents, audits, policies, document compliance and clinical indicators are tracked so the quarterly reporting and the regulator’s questions are answered from the system, not from memory.

Cura is delivered to each provider as its own private instance with its own database. Some providers run Cura Lite, a focused edition that exposes Dashboard, Clients, Workers, Scheduler, Invoicing, Support at Home, Compliance, Settings and Account. On a Lite instance the other modules show a Soon badge in the sidebar and open a “coming soon” page. Nothing is broken when you see that badge; the module is simply not switched on for your organisation yet.
